In 2023, Havens distributed 2,045 grants totaling over $1,513,108 to individuals and families all across New York City. The average grant was $740.

• 11% of beneficiaries were children, and another 21% were young adults. Seniors received 19% of our grants.

• 65% of beneficiaries were renting, while 17% lived in shelters at the time of their grant (up from 10% in 2022.) Only 2% owned their home.

• 28% of beneficiaries were employed at the time they received a Havens grant. Only 5% reported living in households earning more than $40,000.
