In 2019, Havens distributed 1,962 grants totaling over $1,146,860 to individuals and families all across New York City. The average grant was $585.

• Over 60% of Havens' grants provided housing-related needs including rent/mortgage, furnishings, utilities, and moving/storage.
• 8% of the beneficiaries were children 18 years and younger, while almost 20% were seniors 60 and older.
• One-third of the beneficiaries were employed at the time they received a Havens grant. Only 3% reported living in households earning more than $40,000.
• Almost three-fourths of the beneficiaries were renting, while 9% lived in shelter at the time of their Havens grant.
